One Piece Chapter 1182 – FIGHT THE RAIN!!

Oda revealed the truth behind the Dance Powder from the Alabasta arc & the Knights of God are back at it again.

Imu Seeing Ragnir

Just when I felt like Elbaph was narrowing in on a fight with Imu, Loki, & Luffy. Chaos once again reigns down on Elbaph.

And did you catch the moment when Imu recognized Ragnir. From the way Imu talks about Nidhogg, we are certainly building towards Joy Boy’s crew.
Emet. Zunisha. Nidhogg w/ Ragnir. Posedion. Imu.

Is Joy Boy’s crew just full of weirdo!? I want to believe so! I am also excited for Ragnir to meet Chopper because we have a direct link to someone from the void century.

The rest of this chapter is focused away from Imu. At first, I was fooled because it felt like we were wrapping up some loose ends.

Lilith begins to reason that it may be possible over the course of history that someone like Imu would appear, but Oda leaves us hanging by not exactly hearing her full thoughts. Oddly enough the word “spawned” was used in these translations, I’m curious how Viz will translate it because this word implies Imu may have been created from what occurred in the Void Century rather than being apart of it. Almost like Imu the person is dead, but Imu’s soul has become this entity of hatred that continues living on.

Basically Malice Ganon in Breath of the Wild.

Sanji & Zoro injured
Sanji & Zoro injured

Sanji & Zoro are clearly not fully recovered, but they are about to be locked in battle with Maki-powered Knights of God. To me, I no longer think this will be an easy pack up for the Strawhats. That being said, Zoro did mention something interesting about Imu, which I’ll talk about later.

These Sanji & Zoro battles will rely heavily on Luffy finding a way to dispel the omen in his battle against Imu. That is unless Chopper is also the counter to omen.

Good news though, the library is safe & Biblo continues to get more & more mysterious.

Super Sommers finds himself a Giant’s Boat, which is just such a funny reveal because we just see him flying in the air with a ship as he hurries Super Killingham to get the kids. Super Sommers also gives us more tidbits about Imu, which I’ll mention later.

Super Killingham on the other hand is a lot more of a crazier reveal because he summons his nightmare…which is the Rain God Zaza. I was freaking out not just because I want some of the Zaza as-

Zaza the Rain God
Zaza the Rain God

I wanted to learn more about Zaza. We see the words “Rhythm of the Rain Dance”. And can you believe it, but of course, Oda had planted this seed all the way back in Alabasta with the Dance Powder.

The Dance Powder was used to make rain. It leads me to believe the creators of the dance powder were inspired by tales of the Rain God. I really love when Oda makes these fun reveals that add so much more context to previous story moments.

Originally, I thought Zaza looked like Shirahoshi and then I was like…no this clearly looks more like Gunko and then I was like Oda draws a lot of his woman like this so I don’t know.

I do love Zaza’s design though. The way her body is almost like glass or bubble-ish with water sloshing around inside her. Looks so cool & I don’t know how Sanji’s flaming kicks are gonna get through a Rain God, but this is certainly Nami’s time to shine.

I did want to return to some interesting moments about Imu. Zoro points out that the black flames that attacked him turned into steel bullets & explosives.

To me, this is not the power of a devil. Why rely on man-made objects? Is the implication that Imu can create anything or is he just a bunch of smoke & mirrors.

Super Sommers states what I think the community has been feeling, which is Imu is not meant to be in the lower realm. There is a finite time Imu can be here & Super Sommers has set a time for 5 minutes.

Oda is certainly cooking with One Piece Chapter 1182. Let me know what you all think of this chapter. How do you feel about Zaza’s introduction to the story! What else has Zaza potentially influence in this world. Oda dropped a new god on us so let me know & I’ll see you all next time! Bye!
