My Favorite Announcements from The Game Awards 2025

There were so many announcements during the Game Awards, but these are the ones that truly got me hyped. They are in no particular order, so let’s begin with a game that was announced during the pre-show.

Bradley the Badger

Bradley the Badger. The humor in this game is spot on. You are basically a badger going through parody worlds in a video game using game Dev tools to interact with the world. This feels like the essence of what I love about Gex without really being like Gex. I think this game is super cool. Very excited to play it. It’s a shame that this game wasn’t a part of the main show because this is probably one of the best announcements.

Resident Evil 9

Speaking of one of the best announcements, we basically learned more about Resident Evil 9. Apparently, they’re taking the Resident Evil 2 route of having a story A and B. A story being the Grace playthrough. And I wasn’t originally hyped for RE9 because it felt like they wanted to do more RE7, which I’m just not the biggest fan of horror. That was like the only Resident Evil game that I skipped and I wanted more survival action like RE1, 2, 3, 4, and 8, etc. So seeing Leon appear, having him do his survival action, chainsaw fools, it got me super excited for the game.

Gang of Dragon

Next game is from the original creator of Yakuza, Toshihiro Nagoshi called Gang of Dragon. This just straight up looks like Yakuza and I am all for it. Let’s go.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer

Also, we saw a pod racing game from former devs who created Burnout called Star Wars Galactic Racers. This game looks great. I’ll be honest, I don’t know if we saw real gameplay, so I won’t get too excited, but I am down for more Burnout like arcade racers. There were also two games that had multiplayer and I hope that we get to play it as a single player because I run solo.

Highguard

One is High Guard. Got me so excited because these are from devs from Respawn, creators of Titanfall and Apex. Now, this is once again another independent studio breaking off from the big boys to create their own animalistic FPS. The characters all have these animal-like abilities when they transform, most likely their ultimates. They also are riding animals and shooting off guns. I’m not quite sure what kind of game this is, but it looks like so much fun.

Orbitals

The other game that absolutely stunned me was called Orbital. This had an 80s anime aesthetic that looks so wonderful. Whether you are playing the game or watching the cutscenes, it just felt like an 80s anime. I cannot wait to play it.

Deadpool – Marvel Rivals

Speaking of beautiful games, did you see how good that Deadpool trailer was for Marvel Rivals? It’s also coming out next month, so I’m down for it. Once again, there are another two games here that I was hyped about these games. Not because of the trailers, which weren’t particularly the most exciting, but they were from developers that I trust.

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic

First one being Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic. This trailer looks extremely pretty, but I’m not sure what we saw is actual gameplay. Sure, we had a moment where we were zoomed out on the characters, but it didn’t really feel like gameplay, so I’m not sure what kind of game this is. But this is from the director of the Mass Effect trilogy, from Knights of the Old Republic, Casey Hudson, and I am down for this game.

Divinity

The other game is Divinity. This trailer was straight up nasty. It was way too long. I didn’t enjoy the trailer, but it’s from Larian, and I know this game is going to be so freaking good. I cannot wait. There were also two fighting game announcements I was really excited to see about.

Caitlyn – 2XKO

One, Caitlyn Teased in 2X KO. We didn’t see much though.

Ella Mental – Invincible VS

Two is Ella Mental from Invincible VS, who is an original character created by Robert Kirkman for this game. It’s just so cool to have him on the project when Invincible Versus looks like a freaking amazing fun game.

Megaman Overdrive

Lastly, Mega Man Overdrive. I heard the music and I was like, why does this sound familiar? And then it’s like, Mega Man is like, oh my God, it’s Mega Man. Look, this game is far off, so we’ll be waiting a long time to see more from this game, but I’m very excited that we’re going to be playing some more Mega Man. Let’s go.

Street Fighter Movie

Oh yeah. And they also showed the first trailer of Street Fighter. The movie looks amazing. I don’t know. I was grinning the entire time I watched it. Thank you for watching. And hey, consider liking the video, subscribing to the channel, or being a wonderful, wonderful member of the Patreon, YouTube, Twitch, whatever floats your fancy. I appreciate all the generous viewers and I’ll see you next time. Bye.
